My name is Philip Heileson and I cannot stand by and watch this disrespect of the mountain and massive waste of such a wonderful resource without doing everything I can to stop it. We are organizing a rally on August 28th to make the state and media take notice of this injustice.
To everyone who reads this and thinks that is does not apply to them; if the current eradications are successful, hunters will have lost much of the public land that was available for hunting in less than 15 years.
If this is not stopped, it will continue until we have lost all of our lands. We all must stand and fight for this. I am not asking for any money, I am asking for you to write some letters and your presence at the rally.
We as sportsman must draw our line in the sand and make a statement that this is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Following is a list of organizations and politicians that need to hear from you, please write them. I would suggest writing one letter and then sending the same one to all of them.
We need them as well as the media to get involved and take notice and I promise you that every single letter makes a difference. Please write every one of them.
We are going to do this rally on the 28th of August at the DLNR building in Hilo at 6:00 am. Come before work and bring a sign

We really need to have a good turn out or none of this will make a difference so please spread the word and help us make a bold statement.
